5. What do I do if I am attacked by bees? The short answer is RUN..... Seek shelter in house or car. The bees are trying to chase you away from their hive area. They see you as a predator trying to steal their food and babies. The AHB has developed this defense mechanism over millions of years. Africa is full of many different kinds of animals that try and eat bee young and honey. The best defense is a good offense. The faster the AHB can drive off these predators the safer their hive.
