Yes, if you live in Las Vegas all honey bees are the so-called "killer bees" or Africanized Honey Bees (AHB). It takes 3 to 5 years after the AHB has been detected for the AHB to completely take over the wild honey bees and turn them into the AHB. One cannot tell just by looking at a honey bee to know if it is the AHB type. It take a trained lab worker 6 to 8 hours to sample bees with a microscope to determine if they are africanized. We can, however, show you what a honey bee looks like. We will also show you other types of bees so you can tell the difference. |
